Upcoming: Community Gardens on Wilder

There is a pedestrian bridge that goes over the freeway connecting Wilder Ave and Bingham St. We would like to turn this into a community Garden.

Mey and her family have been cleaning trash from under the bridge, especially on the Wilder side, on and off for over 3 years. Recently she organized a trash clean up on November 5, 2022 that removed 71 pounds of trash. CLICK HERE for short video.

Parents and children walk to and from Voyager Charter School on the Wilder sidewalks, over the pedestrian bridge, and onto Bingham and Isenberg.

Creating a community garden will prevent littering, drug use and illegal camping under the bridge. It will keep the area clean and safe for the neighborhood and the families that use the area to commute to school.

It will also provide a space where residents can garden. Various teachers and students at Voyager have expressed interest in starting a garden and can apply for a plot once it is completed.
